Formation of  Navoi state mining institute, which is the only institute in Central Asia, which the main tasks are determined in Edict of the President of the Republic of  Uzbekistan I.A.KARIMOV, emphasizes the high respect and support of the  head of the state to professions of the miner.

The main tasks and directions of the activity of the institute is preparation specialists-constructors, technologists, masters and field investigators of the mining, mining-metallurgical, chemical-technological, energy and machine-building profiles; the development own scientific and intellectual potential in the field of mining and conversions useful fossils zed on base of the study of the world achievements fundamental and applied researches; the development new leading technology mining and conversions useful fossils and introduction them in practical work  with provision concrete geological and climatic conditions of the republic; increasing  qualifications of specialists in the field of mining and processing branches, their refresher course on the base of the most latest world achievements of the science and technology; the scientific analysis and forecast of the development mining branches of the republic; the realization broad  corporation  with large foreign educational institutions, leading mining and mining-metallurgical high school and scientific centre of the countries C.I.S..

Leading pedagogical technologies are introduced In NSMI actively. In particular for the first time in the  republic dual system of the education is introduced. The essence of the given system is concluded in that, the part occupation on profile discipline on 3 and 4 courses are conducted by the teachers  of the institute directly and specialist - a leaders of  the production enterprise directly at the  enterprises.

Efficient use the scientific potential of the mining institute, fortification of the relationships with production, development of international cooperation and mainly, preparing the specialist, adapted to market conditions, require today stubborn labour of the whole group, capable to work on principle "Deal without words".
